Today we finished our notes on cellular respiration.  We saw that cellular respiration can be quite complicated and it has 3 steps. Cellular respiration can be done with or without oxygen, however when it takes place in the presence of oxygen, the process can make up to 36 ATP for the cell to use as energy! Below you will find the Cellular Respiration notes.

Homework:Please finish the DR on cellular respiration (use your textbook) and the word scramble if you did not complete them during class today.

Monday, December 12, 2011

No homework. Tomorrow we will finish cellular respiration.

Friday, December 9, 2011

Hopefully the video today on Photosynthesis helped you review the process of photosynthesis. We are now ready to move on to Cellular Respiration. Remember this is when living organisms break down glucose into a useable compound called ATP.

I hope you finished the photosynthesis questions in the packet in class because I do not want you to have homework. Remember, you only had to do Part 2. Not part 1. If you did not finish, pleae do so by Monday.

There will be a cummulative 2nd quarter re-take test at the end of this quarter. Just like before (1st quarter), you can use it to replace one test or quiz grade.  If you do not score better then it will not be counted.  If you are not doing well on the assessments then you need to come to lunch tutoring.  It is unacceptable to have a D, or perhaps even lower in an honors class. You will not continue in the honors science curriculum unless you end the year with a B average.  This is true in all science classes.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

Tonight finish the Interactive Reader packet that introduces Body Systems. This is our next unit.

Homework: Finish the vocabulary worksheet (both sides). Quiz on vocabulary/cell parts on Friday

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

All the re-takes have been graded. If your score was better I have replaced the one you indicated to replace.
Some of you really made a difference in your grade! Great job! I am pleased to see that even students that high scores in the 80's still tried to improve.  Trust me, every point matters at the end of the year when yoiur final average is calculatedf and placed on your transcript for college.
